Room A
The Control Room
Our flagship room: a 40-input Neve 8078, ATC mains and a long window onto the live floor.
TRK 01 — About the room
Room A is where most Taperoom records start and finish. The 8078 came out of a Toronto broadcast house in 1978 and has been recapped, re-racked and lovingly abused ever since. Forty inputs, sixteen busses and the warm, slightly forward midrange people drive across town for.
Built for tracking and mixing
The control room looks straight onto the Live Floor through a nine-metre window, so drummers, singers and the engineer can see each other. Every tie line is labelled on the patch bay and every cable is tested before you arrive. Your session starts with sound, not troubleshooting.
